Book Nook Lending Library
Have you discovered the community lending library at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market? Checking out a book is easy, just jot down the book author, your name and contact information on clipboard located on the bookcases and return in the next month or earlier if your schedule allows. The Lending Library Book Nook was made possible with support by the Cemala Foundation and the Lee and Loring Mortensen family.
The Lending Library Book Nook project is intended to inspire,entertain and engage all ages with a literary canon of current and vintage cookbooks, gardening/sustanability publications,works by contemporary food culture luminaries and an intersection of topics related to farming,food,nature, and cooking. On the shelves, guests will be able to borrow books by known authors Michael Pollan and Wendell Berry, find recent releases by Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) alongside a rich treasury of out -of -print, obscure regional recipe collections.
The Book Nook activates the entry corner of the Market Cafe and serve as a welcoming setting for th interactive children’s activities, Taste & Tour of the Market: where market ambassadors welcome new guests and audience as well as Meet the Chef & Author readings in the Cafe.
