GREENSBORO, NC – The public is invited to participate in several children’s activities to be held at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street) on Saturday mornings currently scheduled through August 12th (9 am – 12 noon).

Self-Guided Activities will be available at the Kids Corner on the lawn:
Scavenger Hunts
Farming and Fresh Food  Activity Pages
Fun Playtime with Outdoor Equipment (corn hole, ring toss, hula hoops, etc.)

Scheduled Activities:
Families are encouraged to mark their calendars for special fun and educational activity days on the lawn.  All activities are FREE and first come, first served. Parents are asked to please accompany their children on the lawn during all activities.  The children’s educational activities will be held at the Kids Corner on the lawn from 10 – 11:30 am.

  • June 24: Reusable T-Shirt Bags –Children will learn about sustainability and create reusable t-shirt bags sponsored by TS Designs.
  • July 1: What’s Healthy?  -Children will learn about food groups and healthy eating.
  • July 8: Egg Carton Planters -Children will learn about sustainability and plant photosynthesis by creating bio-degradable egg carton planters.
  • July 29: Stream Clean Up -Children will learn the importance of protecting natural resources by examining, Muddy Creek, the water body located on the Market campus.
  • August 5: Vegetable Investigation- Children will become more familiar with vegetables and roots, while also getting accustomed to vegetables as a healthy snack option.
  • August 12:  Vegetable Stamping – Children will get in touch with their creative side by making art with local veggies.

Patrons can also enjoy live music on the Market lawn and are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a summer morning with music, shopping for fresh and local foods, and family fun.
