Celebrate Earth Day at the Market during our Annual Go Green Spring Plant Sale!
The public is invited to attend the Go Green Annual Spring Plant Sale at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street) from 9am – 2pm. The event features spring plants, potting soil, hanging baskets, tools, garden art and services with a wide appeal, from the home patio gardener to the budding urban farmer. This is the largest all local, grower-direct plant sale in the area.
One will find a variety of native and specialty plants, heirloom vegetables to blooming beauties, from which to choose, including:
Flowers & Herbs: gerber, shasta and English daisies, impatiens, lantana, aloe vera, medicinal herbs, petunias, marigolds, hanging baskets, basil, thyme, oregano, bay leaf, chives, lavender, mint, parsley, tarragon, rosemary, bee balm, calendula, cilantro, fennel, and sage to name a few
Perennials & Annuals: rhubarb, artichoke, French sorrel, nasturtiums, alpine strawberries, geraniums, dianthus, yarrow, coreopsis, cardoon
Specialty Plants: fragrant peonies, yacon, papaya seedlings, succulents, ivy topiaries, and wheatgrass for your pets
Trees & Bushes: fruit bearing and ornamental trees, blueberry and blackberry bushes, Japanese Maples, dogwood trees, English boxwoods, rose bushes, and yellow bell bushes
Vegetable Starters: heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, arugula, lettuce, cucumber, squash, tatsoi, cabbage, broccoli, peas, chard, mustard, shiitake logs, mushroom cubes
Garden Art & Accessories: hypertufa garden accents & containers, handmade garden tools, birdhouses, Blue Bird boxes, bat boxes, window boxes, mosaic planter & frames, garden apron & tool bags.
“They know it because they grow it!” Producers, as well as community gardening experts, will be available to give advice or answer questions about soil, pest, lighting and watering. Expert growers will be available to recommend the right greenery for your garden space.
Shoppers can enjoy sweet and savory baked goods from Augustino Gusto,LLC European Bakery including fresh coffee, quiches, pastries, pies, cakes, and specialty European baked goods. Lunch options will be available from Zeko’s 2 GO Foodtruck’s & Catering will be on site at market picnic area with live music from Julian McCarthy and Friends. Patrons are encouraged to bring boxes and bags for plant purchases; limited boxes will be available. Volunteers will be available to assist in loading or carrying purchases to vehicles.
All proceeds from this event directly benefit the growers.
