The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market is hosting The Great American Cookout to kick off the first day of summer. The event will feature locally raised grilled meats and produce sourced from Greensboro Farmers Curb Market vendors.
Grilled meat options include a choice of beef and pork sliders, nitrate-free hot dogs, bratwurst, and chicken provided by Massey Creek, Meadows Family Farm, Rocking F Farm, Rothchild’s Angus Beef, and Weatherhand Farm.
The vegetable selection will include onions, squash, zucchini, potatoes, beets, and even peaches. Enjoy a roll from LOAF Bakery alongside your grilled medley grown for you by Chappell’s Farm Peaches, Crouse Farm, Phillips Farm, Rudd Farm, Sharpe Family Farm, and Smith Farms.
Seasonings such as a rosemary citrus rub and sauces will be supplied by Cornerstone Garlic Farm and Sir Charles Gourmet Sauces. Beverages will be available on the lawn from Tea Hugger’s and Café al Grano.
The cost is $7 per plate with proceeds to benefit the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.
Chef John Smith of Harper’s Restaurant and Steve Caldwell, “grill master”, will be preparing the food.
Live music will be on the lawn, played by Drew Foust (singer/songwriter and guitarist) beginning at 9 am – 10:30 am, and followed by Marcus Horth (lead vocalist from The Monkey Mind) at 10:45 am – 12:00 pm. There will be picnic table seating, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc., as well.
