Greensboro Farmers Market Holds Annual Peach Celebration Day on Saturday August 7, 2021. Pre-order Tickets Now Available.
Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. the community non-profit that operates the Curb Market is holding its 5th Annual Peach Pancake Fundraiser & Celebration Day on Saturday, August 7th. The breakfast fundraiser begins at 8:00 am on the Lindsay lawn of the Market campus.
Guest chefs Alex and Tim Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex will prepare their light and fluffy pancakes topped with a peach compote, syrup, and butter. Plates are $10 per person donation. A side of Neese’s bacon or Neese’s sausage patty is available for an additional $2.
Vendors across the market will help celebrate this sweet summer fruit with tastings of peaches grown from mountain orchards in Cana, Virginia and the sandhills of Candor, NC. Peach ice cream, jams and baked goods will also be available.
There will be live music by Jack Gorham on the Lindsay lawn stage from 8:30 am to 11:00 am for all to enjoy. Keyboardist/ singer Jack Gorham’s music frequently draws comparisons to artists as far flung as Billy Joel and Randy Newman and the poetic likes of Leaonard Cohen and Tom Waits. He plays a range of melodies from sweet love songs to bluesy toe-tapping romps.
Picnic seating is available, patrons are welcome to bring blankets or folding chairs. Market fundraising events are first-come, first-served, and while supplies last. Event proceeds provide vital funds for market hunger relief programs and subsidize vendor table fees. Preorder sales are encouraged, and patrons may choose their plate pick up time at the info hub are available on Wednesday and Saturday Market days.
