Greensboro N&R – Individuals using the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program can now get more for their money at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, according to a news release.
Effective Jan. 2, the market will double up to $15 worth of SNAP tokens for users shopping on Saturdays. Double SNAP Saturdays will continue through April 16, the farmers’ market said in a news release.
SNAP customers using the match program would withdraw $15 from a SNAP account and receive $30 to spend at the market to buy fresh produce, fish, meats, eggs, honey, milk and other items, according to the release.
The Hillsdale Foundation and Mary Lynn Richardson Foundation helped extend the match program into 2016.
Starting April 20, the Market will begin offering the double program on Wednesdays instead of Saturdays, according to the release.
