Greensboro N&R – The Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market at 501 Yanceyville St. in Greensboro will offer a free educational program for children ages 6 to 12 at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month, from May 7 through Dec. 3.
The 30- to 45-minute programs will focus on fresh and local foods, healthful eating, movement and gardening.
Activities will include yoga for kids; beekeeping; seed planting; learning about fruits, vegetables and roots; and physical pursuits.
The programs will take place outside,weather permitting, or in the market’s new Harvest Learning Cafe.
With grant support from the Future Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, the market will also provide $5 in Kids Coins to children enrolled in the Guilford County free or reduced lunch program. These coins can be redeemed at the market after the educational session.
While the Kids Coins program is exclusively for children in the free or reduced lunch program, the Curb Market welcomes all children in the area to take part in the educational sessions.
Participation for both programs is available on a first-come, first-served basis and preregistration is required.
