Greensboro N&R – The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market has two new events starting in May, one focused on vintage shoppers and the other for children.
The Pokez Vintage and Antique Fair, formerly known as Hoots Flea Market, is expanding to the Curb Market (501 Yanceyville St.) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on one Sunday of most months through the end of the year.
Customers can buy antique, vintage, re-purposed and handmade items, as well as participate in live auctions, pie-eating contests and raffles to win gift cards from The Green Bean, Mellow Mushroom and Natty Greene’s. Food trucks will also be on site.
The dates for the fair are: May 29, June 26, July 24, Sept. 25, Oct. 23 and Dec. 11.
The fair will be held on Homeland Avenue, with parking in the Curb Market lot and across Yanceyville Street at War Memorial Stadium.
Admission is free, and vendors interested in selling their wares should contact Joseph Bradford at hootsflea@gmail.com for more information.
Also, beginning May 7, the Curb Market will host a free program for children 6-12 years old.
The 30- to 45-minute program will teach children about healthy eating, exercise and gardening through activities such as seed planting, beekeeping and yoga. It will be at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month through Dec. 3.
The program will be held outside or inside the Curb Market’s Harvest Learning Cafe.
The program is available on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration is required. To do so online, visit www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4babaa2ca5fa7-kids, or download the form at http://gsofarmersmarket .org/kids-first-saturdays-to-begin-spring-2016/.
