The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market is looking for Fall and Spring semester Interns. Join our dynamic fast-paced team as a Market Intern!   We are looking for responsible, dedicated, outgoing folks to assist with Farmers Market operations in the market and in our administrative office.

Learn all about local foods, community engagement and economic development this semester as an intern at the historic Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, a 501c-3 non-profit. We support 105+ farms, prepared food makers and craft artisans and we are a top ten destination for the city! Come join us in the fun and make a difference in Greensboro!

These unpaid internships are a minimum of 3 months beginning immediately. Ongoing opportunities are available; however these internships do not guarantee employment opportunities within the Market after the internships are completed.

Public Relations Intern responsibilities include:

  • Writing press releases
  • Working with local media outlets
  • Researching and writing relevant weekly social media posts
  • Utilizing WordPress, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Vine to further the goals of the GFM and increase social media following

Operations Intern responsibilities include:

  • Operations/Compliance (agriculture/horticulture)
  • Assist in routine inspections
  • Research new product category research
  • Communicate with vendors on crop and product matters
  • Outreach: Canvassing surrounding (low-income) neighborhoods and organizing and leading volunteer teams (SNAP/EBT)

Event Planning Intern responsibilities include:

  • Assist coordinator in tastings, demonstrations, and fundraisers.
  • Work with chefs, nutritionists, suppliers to procure ingredients.
  • Facilitate events and manage volunteers during event.
  • Potential for modest stipend available

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commit for a minimum of 3 months 10 to 30 hours per week.
  • College age or above
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Enthusiasm for Farmers Markets, small farmers, locally grown produce, and environmental sustainability.
