Greensboro, NC – The public is invited to a Mardi Gras Celebration at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street) on Saturday, March 2nd. Starting at 9am and while supplies last, this fundraising event will feature local foods in a Louisiana style Jambalaya prepared by local celebrity chef, Jay Pierce, of Mozelle’s Fresh Southern Bistro.
Guest Chef Jay Pierce will feature USA sourced shrimp and andouille sausage in his famous Louisiana style Jambalaya. Pierce, a Louisiana native, has been serving up and supporting local foods in the Triad since 2006. Story-teller, chef, local-food advocate, and author of Shrimp: A Savor of the South Cookbook, Pierce “encourages today’s cooks to support local shrimp fisheries in order to help ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy American-sourced shrimp in abundance.”
Customers may pre-order Jambalaya in quarts for pick-up on March 2nd to take home for a cozy meal to share with family. Quarts will be available for a minimum donation of $16 and can be orderedHERE. Dine in options include a medium bowl for a minimum donation of $6 and a large bowl for a minimum donation of $8. Bowls will be available while supplies last.
Patrons can enjoy live music during the event from Jeff Wall, Big Dumb Hick, from 9 am – 12 pm and celebrate a festive Mardi Gras in the Market with beads and fun for the whole family. Patrons are invited to dress up in Mardi Gras colors (purple, gold, and green) and masks for this fun event and participate in free photo booth activity.
All fundraising events are first come, first served while supplies last. Proceeds from monthly fundraisers benefit Greensboro Farmers Market Inc., a 5013c non-profit and underwrite market operations to subsidize vendor table costs and food security programs.

The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville Street, is located at the corner of Lindsey Street and Yanceyville Street across from the War Memorial Stadium and operates year round on Saturdays 7 am to 12 pm and seasonally on Wednesdays 8 am- 12 pm (April 17 – October 30).
