Greensboro, NC – The public is invited to participate in May Events and Happenings at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street).
MADE 4 Market Spring Arts/Crafts & Pottery Festival will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 11 am until 4:00 pm. Customers can shop local artists, potters and crafters with a variety ceramics, fine art, jewelry, funky fibers, food gifts, home & garden and more. One may find unique gifts for mothers, fathers, graduates, baby showers and more.
The MADE 4 Market Arts Crafts & Pottery Spring Show provides the opportunity to purchase locally produced gifts directly from the artists. “Buying directly from the artists is a great way to support your local economy and connect with the creative community,” Lee Mortensen, Executive Director. Proceeds from MADE 4 Market show go directly to the artists, which keeps dollars in our community while supporting talented artists across North Carolina.
There will be live music, free activities for children, and art demonstrations from Art Alliance of Greensboro for patrons to enjoy. There are several dining options for lunch and snacking at the MADE event which includes local food trucks, Zeko’s 2 GO Foodtruck’s & Catering and Bandito Bodega. Prepared food will also be sold within the market during the show by local vendors. Picnic table seating and indoor self-service seating in Cook’s Corner is available.
Strawberry Pancake and Celebration Day will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 8:00 am until 11:30 am. The event will be served outside, on the Market lawn. Picnic seating is available outside and additional seating is available inside in Cooks Corner. Guest chef Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex will prepare his famously light and fluffy pancakes made with local ingredients and topped with fresh grown strawberries from Rudd Farm. Patrons can enjoy live music on the Market lawn during the event with pop tunes from Madison starting off and then singer/songwriter Jack Gorham with an amazing set.
A minimum $5 donation will get you a plate of 2 delicious strawberry pancakes and for a minimum donation of $7 you can get a plate of 2 delicious strawberry pancakes and a Neese Country Sausage patty. Support of Market fundraisers is a great way to connect and celebrate fresh, local foods and goods. Your patronage is an investment in the local economy. Event proceeds support food security programs and basic operations at the Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. Cash or credit card donation available.
Local strawberries from market vendors will be available for purchase across the market from: Farlow Farm, Byrley Gardens, Rudd Farm, Smith Farms, Sugar Hill Produce, Phillip’s Farm, Rural Hall Farm, Mighty Tendril, and Smith Century Farm. Bakers and others across the market will be creating specialty items to take home inspired by this seasonal fruit, including fresh strawberry pies, cookies, and more.
