Greensboro, NC – (501 Yanceville Street) The public is invited to celebrate summer’s favorite stone fruit at the Peach Pancake & Celebration Day at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 8:00 am until 11:30, while supplies last.
Guest Chefs Alex and Tim Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex will prepare their famous light and fluffy pancakes topped with peach compote (similar to a peach pie filling). Pancake plates are available for a donation of $5 per plate per person. A la carte options include a Neese’s Country Sausage patty and orange juice.
The Peach Pancake & Celebration Day hosted by Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. (GFM) will be held on the Market lawn on Lindsay Street with live music from Finn Phoenix (ukulele & guitar) from 8 am to 9 am followed by event headliner and local favorite singer songwriter, Laura Jane Vincent, of Glendon, North Carolina. Vincent will perform from 9 am – 12 noon. Patrons can enjoy community seating on the lawn or bring picnic blankets to sit under the shade trees and are welcome to enjoy fun activities (hoola hoops, lawn games) for all ages.
Peaches will be available to purchase from vendors growing in the North Carolina and Virginia mountain orchards. Market food artisans will offer specialties featuring peaches: jams, pies, ice cream and more.
GFM fundraising events are first come, first served and help to provide vital funds to operations and five food security programs at the GFM, Inc., a 501-c3 non-profit organization. To learn about volunteer and giving options visit the GFM website’s “Support” section.
