Greensboro, NC – The public is invited to participate in June Events and Happenings at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street). The Curb Market offers the bounty of fresh and local seasonal fruits and vegetables that offer a taste of early summer. Strawberries are plentiful and June produce arrivals include blueberries, blackberries, peaches, tomatoes, broccoli, string beans, squash, shelled peas, cabbage, cauliflower, fennel, kolrabi, and tender carrots. Every week on Saturdays and Wednesdays, customers can shop for staples: pastured-meats, eggs, local dairy, breads, mushrooms, flowers, and fresh vegetables and fruits.
Blueberry Pancake & Celebration Day: Market Breakfast Fundraiser
Saturday, June 30th, 8-11:30 am (while supplies last). Fresh market blueberries folded into light & fluffy pancakes cooked up by Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex with the option of an add on side of Neese’s Country Sausage for a minimum donation of $7. Donation minimum $5 per plate for pancakes only. Cash or Credit Card donation available. Fresh blueberries will be available across the Market for purchase.
Market to Table: FREE Local Food Cooking Demonstrations
- Saturday, June 2nd : Guest Chef Chris Clegg will demonstrate the appreciation of the first summer tomatoes in his “Tomato Gazpacho” demonstration
- Wednesday, June 6th: Cheri Timmons of Cheri Timmons Coaching, LLC will teach a class “A Shift from Mindlessly Eating to Mindfully Eating.”
- Wednesday, June 13th: Vincent Webb from the NC Cooperative Extension office will educate us in a 2 part series called “Vegs Instead of Meds.”
- Saturday, June 16th: Guest Chef Chris Scalici will demonstrate the many ways to serve cauliflower including his recipe for an “Herb Crusted Cauliflower.”
- Wednesday, June 27th: Vincent Webb will be back to the Market to share his series of “Vegs Instead of Meds.”
All chef demonstrations will take place in Cook’s Corner or the Lawn on Lindsay and are free to the public. Demonstrations start at 10 am unless otherwise noted. The Wednesday wellness classes will meet at 10 am in the Annex room located off the Yanceyville entrance to the Market unless otherwise noted.
MARKET MUSIC MAKERS: The Market Music Makers is a local-live music series to engage and entertain Market shoppers. All performances take place on Lindsay Lawn weather permitting. Location and Hours of Operation
The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville Street, is located at the corner of Lindsey Street and Yanceyville Street across from the War Memorial Stadium and operates year round on Saturdays 7am to 12 pm and seasonally on Wednesday 8 am- 1 pm (April 18 – December 19). The Market is an indoor facility with free admission, WiFi, and plenty of free parking as well as an ATM on site.
