Greensboro, NC– The public is invited to the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville St.) for a celebration of local foods in participation of Guilford Local Foods Week, September 21 through 30. Events throughout Guilford County at will take place at farmers markets, community gardens, urban and rural farms, community dinners, and library branches to celebrate the ways that we grow, buy, cook, and eat local foods. These events will bring together local food advocates, farmers, chefs, restauranteurs, agricultural, professionals, and local food supporters.

The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market will feature several Local Food Cooking Demonstrations in participation with Guilford Local Foods Week. Customers can drop by or stay for the entire cooking demonstration and receive cooking tips, nutritional information, and recipes.

  • Saturday, September 22nd:  Guest Ann Jones will be highlighting seasonal produce including cabbage, garlic, and bell peppers in a Low Carb, “Keto” style stir fry at 10 am at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.
  • Monday, September 24th: GFM will host a cooking Demonstration at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch Library with Guest Chef Ninevah Murray featuring fresh seasonal appetizers and recipes.
  • Wednesday, September 26th: Guest Chef Steve Terrill will lead an interactive cooking demonstration, “Make Your Own Pasta,” featuring local tomatoes and basil during the Mid-Week Market at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.

Along with Cooking Demonstrations at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, the public is invited to support local foods and local farmers during the year- round Saturday Market, 7am – 12 noon, and the Mid-Week Market, Wednesdays 8 am – 1 pm. Both Markets feature fresh, seasonal produce, meats, eggs, dairy, artisan baked goods, and more. The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market is producer-only farmers market with all products grown or produced with-in a 100 mile radius of Greensboro, NC.

Location and Hours of Operation
The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville Street, is located at the corner of Lindsey Street and Yanceyville Street across from the War Memorial Stadium and operates year round on Saturdays 7 am to 12 pm and seasonally on Wednesday, Mid-Week Market 8 am- 1 pm (April 18– December 19). Mid-Week Market hours are currently Wednesdays from 8am -1pm and fall hours (8 to 12 noon) will commence on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. The Market is an indoor facility with free admission, WiFi, and plenty of free parking as well as an ATM on site.
