The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street) will host Dog Days of Summer on Saturday August 25, 7 am – noon. Dog Days of Summer is sponsored by Dog Days of Greensboro; a local dog daycare, overnight boarding, and grooming professionals.
This fun and educational fundraiser will bring awareness and exposure to help Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. (GFM) develops resources for a sheltered area at the market for furry friends. Rescue dogs and information will be at the Market provided by The Haley Graves Foundation and Red Dog Farm Rescue.
The lawn at the corner of Lindsay & Yanceyville St. will be full of dog-related vendors such as: paw dyes with Kristy’s Boutique and dog training with The Clever Canine to name a few. Additional vendors may join the event and updates will be posted to the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market’s Facebook page and website. Interested vendors of handcrafted dog related items can find more information about becoming a vendor on the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market’s Eventbrite page.
Live music will be available from 9 am – noon by Capn Dar and Special Guests with live guitar and group performances.
The Dog Wash fundraiser starting at 9 am under the carports. Tickets for the dog wash will be available for a minimum donation of $10 per dog and will be while supplies last. Each dog wash consists of a shampooing and towel drying. Cash or credit is available. Volunteers will be assisting in washing and drying dogs; persons interested in volunteering can email Ashley Hogan at gfmarketevents@gmail.com for more information and to sign up.
Stay for breakfast or lunch with tasty treats offered both inside and outside the market. Inside will be a local food demo with Chef Steve Terrill of Red Chair Dinners along with information sheets about what dogs can and cannot eat. Outside will be a hotdog food cart and other food artisans.
Be sure to come enjoy a fun filled day, and don’t forget to bring your dogs! Have a fun time with your furry loved ones and get your shopping done too. While the Market loves our four-legged friends due to Greensboro City law only service animals are permitted inside the building, but all leashed pets are welcome on the lawn.
Dog Days of Summer is part of the fundraising efforts of Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc., and non-profit organization. All proceeds benefit GFM, Inc. and defer vendor table fees, operations, and food security programs at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.
