Greensboro, NC – (501 Yanceyville Street) Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. the community non-profit that manages the Farmers Curb Market for the City of Greensboro, has been operating at a consistently high safety and sanitation standard to meet CDC, state and local requirements and recommendations to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the recent City of Greensboro state of emergency announcement and extended Phase 3 NC governor’s executive order, the Market will be fully supportive of local and state leadership in our role to promote healthy living with fresh foods.
Enhanced safety and sanitation protocols include:
- Each vendor is required to have a PPE kit with cleaners and sanitizers and follow grocery and retailer worker guidelines
- 8 hand sanitizer stations and hand washing stations at the entrance
- Building capacity is posted and monitored by security guard and staff
- Campus signage noting cloth face coverings/masks required and staff reminding folks of proper mask wearing, including covering nose and mouth
- Cross ventilation with open window/door s and two large roof vents to circulate air
- Vendors who wish to sell outside may do so and reduced vendor capacity is upheld inside the Market building
- One-way aisles help create proper 6-foot distancing for vendors and customers
This producer-direct Market supports small, local independent farmers and small artisan businesses. Full customer compliance is expected. Shoppers must wear a mask when leaving their car and entering our campus. For folks that can not wear a mask due to health reasons, preorders are available online and staff will assist by bringing orders to vehicles parked in the Lindsay Street parking lot. Patrons are encouraged to shop with a list and a purpose.
In observance of the holiday season, the Market will be open, with vendors located both outside on the Lindsay parking lot and inside the market building, on the following dates:
- Pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Market: Wednesday, November 25, 8 am to 11 am
- Saturday, December 5, 8am – 12pm with the MELT Kitchen & Bar “Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich To-Go” fundraiser from 8:30am – 11:30am. Preorder tickets for this tasty Market fundraiser can be purchased online at GSOFarmersMarket.org/
- Saturday, December 12, 8 am -12 pm
- Saturday, December 19, 8 am -12 pm
- Pre-Christmas Holiday Market: Wednesday, December 23, 8am – 11am
Vulnerable shoppers may enter the Market at 7:45am. All customers are asked to arrive 30 minutes before Market closing to navigate the indoor/outdoor layout.
The Curb Market will be closed for Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 28, and Christmas on Saturday, December 26, re-opening for the New Year on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at 8 am to 12 pm.

Food security programs are available during Saturday Markets with benefits distributed and during the two Holiday Markets on November 25 and December 23. Customers can double SNAP/EBT tokens to purchase fruits, vegetables, eggs, meats, and dairy up to $15 once per Market day, from 8am – 10am.
