The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market (501 Yanceyville Street) will host the Gritty Blues Breakfast Bar Fundraiser on the lawn, weather permitting, Saturday April 7, 2018 from 8 am -11:30 am or until supplies last. This tasty event will honor two southern staples, Grits with a side of blues! Chef Mike Harkenreader from The Undercurrent Restaurant, will be hosting a gorgeous spread of grits from the Old Mill at Guilford.
The event will feature The Old Mill’s yellow grits prepared with Homeland Creamery milk. A bowl of grits with a choice of cheddar cheese, butter or Quaker Acre Honey will also be available for a minimum donation of $5. Premium toppings from Chef Mike will be available for a minimum donation of $7 per bowl. One may choose from market fresh toppings including, “Pickled Shrimp and Vegetables”, “Smoked Goat Lady Dairy Lindale Cheese”, and Massey Creek Farm’s Hard Boiled Egg.
Patrons will enjoy live music from Andy Squint & the Zydeco Rouxsters and sponsored by the the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society. Come enjoy some upscale southern style grits and groove to the blues at the Market.
Participation in monthly breakfast fundraisers is an investment in the local economy and cultural community. Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation and all proceeds from the Gritty Blues Bar will benefit the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market to directly support operations, food security programs and supplies for local food demonstrations.
Greensboro Farmers Curb Market operates year round on Saturdays 7 am to 12 noon and on seasonally on Wednesdays 8am to 1:00 pm beginning April 18, 2018.
