Over on the Market’s north wall at table 142, Bill Farthing brings his smiles and stories and photographs for all to enjoy. Whether it’s the twinkle in Bill’s eye or a photograph that catches your eye, Bill can make a good Market day better.

Growing up on a farm near Yanceyville helped Bill build his view of nature. Each photograph seems perfectly set up or framed to accent his subjects. That’s true of his nature shots as well of those capturing man’s creations

A small sampling of Bill’s photos may surprise you if you haven’t stopped to flip through his offerings. There’s an old outbuilding door with beautiful flowers perfectly framed within the door. Here’s his hometown’s Oak Hollow Lake, frozen with a perfect covering of pure white snow. Or, if your interests lie farther away, how about London Bridge with a brilliant blue English sky or New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty or sunset over the Shenandoah Mountains near Waynesboro, VA.

Bill began honing his skills in the 1950’s and his hasn’t stopped. From box cameras to film to today’s digital technology, Bill has adapted and refined his techniques to bring beauty to Market.

The Market has been his Saturday morning home for over thirty years. Stop by for a photo, a spirit boost and a story.
